listening, and to vent and, on some nights, I am sure, to get things that are rattling around in
my brain, off my mind, so that I can fall asleep.
Some nights, I worry about our country. Some nights, I'm dealing with being well-aware that
every ache and pain that is keeping me awake is probably directly related to the years I have
spent beating up my own body - by working, by over doing it, by not eating right, by not sleeping enough, and on and on.
Other times, since we are still building a house, I'm trying to figure out which way I should run the plumbing, where I want to store my wood for the fireplace we are installing, and how much space we need to hold all the computer stuff.
Other times, I am just laying awake, wishing that the trains that are 2 blocks away would just quit blowing the whistles and get on through the town. Or wondering if someone ran off the rail because of the large "CRASH" I just heard (it wouldn't be the first time).
I also welcome almost all discussions. (as long as they are discussions and not personal attacks).
I like to hear others opinions - and, almost as important - why they have that opinion.
Life, for me, has been quite a varied one. I like prospecting, metal detecting, mining, horses, horse training, dogs, reading, gardening and watching both of the major news stations - liberal and conservative (I believe, for the most part, the truth is somewhere in the middle of the two). I like politics, and I like tracking down all the "rhetoric" - and finding out the exact truth. For some time in my life, I was a registered republican, and then a registered democrat. Now, that I'm older, I don't think I fit into either one, so I am an independent. I tend toward being a
constitutionalist, though not a Libertarian. My views range all the way from the left (though not a hard left), to the right (though not a hard right).
So, on that note, I will start this blog.
